Illustrated by Kelly Frankenberg
Back Cover Text: In 1965, the Horace Hills Irvine family donated their house at 1006 Summit Avenue to the State of Minnesota to serve as the official residence of the First Family. As the Governor's Residence, this historic building has served as home to 9 Governors and their families, who have taken on the task of preserving its historic beauty while enjoying its wonderful living spaces. The house was designed by Minneapolis architect William Channing Whitney in 1910 and has nine bedrooms, eight bathrooms and nine fireplaces.
